			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It’s been a while since I wrote a post, or really did anything in any of the CRE online communities.&#160; This was not because I decided to never write again, or interact on Twitter.&#160; I have two very good reasons for going off the map.&#160; Ok, I have one very good reason, and another that we’ll just call “a reason”.</p>
<p>First, just “a reason”.&#160; It was football season.&#160; I typically write in the morning, before my day has fully started.&#160; It’s a good way to just think about what I’m doing, for thinking’s sake.&#160; But during football season I have my fantasy football team to manage and blogging can take a back seat to vanquishing your lifelong friends at a made up game (there was very little vanquishing done this year by me).&#160; Football season is just about wrapping up now, so I figured I should get back in the habit of writing again.</p>
<p>Finally, there was a good reason that I wasn’t writing at the end of last year.&#160; I typically write about what I’m thinking about and at the end of last year I was thinking a lot about whether our company was going to leave Sperry Van Ness.&#160; I didn’t want to write about this for a lot of reasons, and out of respect to a lot of people.&#160; We were having internal discussions about possibly leaving.&#160; I didn’t want to put any of my thoughts on the topic out there because I thought it would be disrespectful to the people at Sperry Van Ness.</p>
<p>We did decide to leave Sperry Van Ness for reasons that just made sense for our company.&#160; Sperry Van Ness is a great company and they provide a lot of value to all of their advisors, but in this case it was just an instance of putting everything on the scales and seeing which side weighed more.&#160; It was probably a decision that is unique to our company.&#160; I can honestly say that if we were any of the other over 100 SVN offices, we would probably still be with SVN.&#160; But our company is a little different because we’re in the land brokerage business, and we did decide that we needed to make a change.</p>
<p>In any case, I’m planning on being a little more active going forward.&#160; By leaving Sperry Van Ness and rebranding our company as Mimi Song Company, we’re launching <a href="http://www.mimisongcompany.com">www.mimisongcompany.com</a> which will be fully up and running in the next few days, and where some of my writing will appear in the future.</p>
<p>So, what did I miss?</p>
